I am enjoying reading these blogs from your travels. We know you can't smoke in the USA but what about over there. Are the restrictions as bad? Is a new novel being brewed while there? Inquiring minds want to know......Waiting for the new Demo Dick novel.....Hopefully, you'll be doing some signings in NYC for this one......Thanks.....Chris.....

Italy recently banned smoking indoors. You can still smoke in outdoor cafes/bars, of which there are a million in Italy. I didn't spend a lot of time inside, so it wasn't clear how carefully the smoking laws are enforced - Italy tends to have a pretty, um, well, nuanced view of legal matters.
